Things have been awfully quiet on the US expansion front for Apple Pay since CVS pharmacies started embracing the digital wallet service nationwide back in October, which could only mean one thing.

A major publicity coup and visibility boost was in the works, going official today. After years of resisting a deal, Target has finally reached an undisclosed agreement with Apple to bring the latter’s market-leading mobile contactless payment system to a grand total of 1,850 stores across the US in the “coming weeks.”
